How Time Really Flies...

Wow! It's been such a REAL while since I blogged. Let me see, two summers, a school year and a-half, two Christmases, a new year (almost 2 in 5 days) have passed since my last blog. A lot has happened in between - I mean really A LOT!

It's now Dec 26, 2008! I'm on school Christmas break. I planned on catching up grading papers, and updating lesson plans. I did some of it before Christmas then my good co-teacher friend said, "I refused to grade papers on my break!" Sounds good, and that should be what school break should be ( uh-oh, redundant words - a no, no!) But hey, give me a break - it's break time!
Anyway, I still plan on doing some school work with whatever remains of this Christmas school break. Right now tho, I'm so engrossed into this Blogspot, Facebook, MySpace, Friendster, and Flickr updating.

So, let me look back and try to list what happened since my last blog.
1. An addition to the family came in July 2007. Sydney was barely 9 months when my brother Juel drove from Ohio to drop Sydney, a pure boxer breed dog. Our life has never been the same since then.
2. Enad had gone and came back from his tech school training in Missouri. While he was away, he missed my mom, Yen and family visiting us from Guam. We then drove around Washington DC, Ohio, Ontario and Toronto, Canada and Chicago. That was quite a long road trip. It was a blast. We were all tired, sleepy and hungry - not to mention cranky drivers, too!
3. Janice is now half-way through 3rd grade. She's still swimming. She's improving a lot and have been in so many meets, I sometimes don't watch her compete anymore. I just sit on the bleachers and sometimes check school papers. Awww, of course, I still do cheer for her. It's just that sometimes I'm the one more tired than she is.
4. The big change is moving in to our own house - finally! In March 2008, we moved in to this small, little, tiny house with a big backyard, we could really call our own.
5. It's Christmas season once again - 2008 that is! We celebrated our first Christmas in our own house, also Thanksgiving! Last year, we drove to Ohio to celebrate Christmas with Juel.
6. After Thanksgiving this year, our life had turn to another road again. That is with 2 additional boxers. And it's really been a change. What with these 3 puppy boxers running around the living room. They all love the backyard but it's a pain when they have to come back in. They're all filthy and dirty and excited and jumping up and down. We're counting the days til we go back to just Sydney, actually. Although I could also say that having these 3 also gives us joy and laughter. For sure, Sydney will miss Ben and Claire when Juel comes back and take them back to Ohio. Juel has been deployed for a month to Kyrgyzstan since Dec10. He'll be back, hopefully to the US on Jan17. When will he be back to Virginia? That's the big question!

Well, for now we're taking things one day at a time. New year's resolution? Let me see... hmmm, I'm never really good on doing things as planned. Hey, can't even cook on what the recipe exactly calls for - but I can cook, that I know!

Ok, ok... I think I will TRY to regularly update Blogspot, MySpace, Friendster, Flckr and the latest Facebook - not in that order or any other order. I guess whichever I receive feedback from.
Wish me luck.
Happy new year! Let's all have a happy and peaceful 2009!
